The Hawaiian Ti plant is traditionally used in hula skirt and lei making.  I'm lucky to have a few in my backyard, which a good friend made into a wedding lei po'o for me last year.  I had a vision for a painting of pinks and reds, something that radiated warmth and love because that's what the Ti plant represents to me.
